Plugin Shootout: Can Master Plan Compete with The God Particle, Ozone, and LANDR?

Mastering is changing. It’s not a final step anymore. It’s part of the mix.
And the tools we use should reflect that. That’s why we built Master Plan.

Since its initial release, we’ve seen a growing wave of creators putting it to the test, and we’ve been loving the feedback. One standout example comes from a detailed video breakdown by Bradley of Radium Records, a seasoned producer and plugin reviewer known for his in-depth comparisons and no-nonsense takes.

On the Radium Records YouTube channel, Bradley walks through a full mastering chain shootout, putting Master Plan up against some of the most widely used tools in the game: The God Particle, Ozone 10, and LANDR’s AI mastering service.

Spoiler: Master Plan held its own. And then some.

Mastering Is Part of Mixing Now

Bradley opens with something that’s true for most producers today.

Mastering isn’t some last-minute polish or a final separate step. We’re mixing into our mastering chain right from the start. It’s baked into the mix.
Whether you’re using Ozone, God Particle, or Limitless, the goal is to make it sound done early and keep the energy while you build.

Master Plan was designed for exactly that.
It’s musical, fast, and lets you push the mix without getting stuck tweaking.

Master Plan vs. The God Particle

After walking through a typical mastering chain (Variable Mu, Goldfoss, Soothe 2, The God Particle), Bradley swapped out The God Particle for Master Plan and immediately noticed several key changes:

  • More loudness, less harshness
  • Wider stereo image and depth
  • Smooth highs and rich low-end
  • Musical harmonic saturation

He also appreciated the intuitive layout, highlighting how controls like Low, High, Width, Loud are straightforward, musical, and don’t require deep menu diving.

Under the Hood: Tape, Calm, Clean, and More

The second half of the video explored Master Plan’s more advanced features. What we call the “magic quick fix section.”:

  • Tape adds analog warmth and natural high end roll off
  • Calm softens harsh upper mids without dulling the track
  • Thick adds weight and harmonic energy, especially for drums
  • Clean reduces mud in a smart, reactive way

Bradley also called out the plugin’s LUFS meter, crest factor readout, and customizable UI.

The A/B Shootout

The real test came in the form of three A/V comparisons:

Master Plan vs. God Particle
Bradley noted that Master Plan achieved a louder, fuller master without the clipping artifacts often seen in hot mixes. The stereo image and dynamic range were preserved while still achieving a punchy finish.

Master Plan vs. Ozone 10
While Ozone remains a powerhouse, Bradley found that Master Plan delivered a professional sound more immediately, without needing to tweak every parameter. It was a faster path to a compelling master.

Master Plan vs. LANDR
Finally, the plugin went head-to-head with LANDR’s AI mastering engine. Even with level matching, Master Plan provided a more energetic, polished result maintaining character and excitement where the LANDR algorithm sometimes felt flat or overly neutral.

One Critique. Already Handled.

The only real critique? The interface felt hard to read…until switching the LED and faceplate colors. Once customized, visibility and workflow improved drastically!

We intentionally made Master Plan’s UI adaptable for a reason. Every studio and user is different, and we want the experience to fit your environment.

Final Take: Master Plan Earned Its Spot

Bradley didn’t hedge. He said Master Plan could replace some of the biggest plugins out there.

His words:

“It’s simple. It’s powerful. And it sounds done.”

That’s what we keep hearing.
Not just from reviewers, but real producers, engineers, and artists.

If you’re working in pop, hip-hop, electronic, soul, or anything in between,
Master Plan helps your mix sound like a record. Fast.
